From the Archives (2019)
Did you know I had a blog before this one?
For the longest time I wanted to carve out a space to showcase my projects that I have done around the home but the timing just wasn’t right and the perfectionist in me couldn’t get the right platform dialed in. So I’ve sat on these photos of my Home Design projects for years.
And also, from the perfectionist in me, my camera / photos from 2019 aren’t what they are today. So don’t judge too hard 🙂
Its no surprise that I absolutely love all things home decor and design.
When I was younger, my Grandma would send me her old AD (Architecture Digest) magazines and I would sit, look and just obsess over the designs.
I absolutely love styling the home. Home projects don’t have to always be complete gut and remodel projects. Sometimes its a simple wall treatment or new splash of paint that can do the trick. Even rearranging current furniture in a room can make it feel fun and new.
My Mom has always been my design project guinea-pig. When I was younger, she would let me help pick furniture or paint colors around our family home.
As I have gotten older and out on my own, its been fun to continue to help re-do different rooms in her new home.
We’ve tackled (nearly) her whole house now, but her laundry room was the first “refresh” she let me design after she moved in. I loved the simplicity. We didn’t change floors, or the location of the laundry machine / dryer. We simply added some new paint, vertical shiplap and added a hair-stylist sink and some wooden floating shelves / cabinets. This was a SIMPLE project that provided a big change of scenery.
