Pre-ranch life, we would take the kids to an airbnb and have our own little party with just our immediate family. I wasn’t a natural born host so this was a picture perfect way for us as a family to make each kiddo feel special and celebrated without a traditional friends or family “party.”
Each year, the kids pick out what theme they want for their party and then we work together to make it exactly how they imagine.
Birthday’s are something I personally have never been particularly drawn to celebrating. But once we had kids, I wanted to give them a day where they can look back and remember how loved and celebrated they felt.
These little private parties we held for their first few years of life are something I will forever cherish.
For Landyn’s 5th Birthday, we escaped to the Beach. We took a ferry, had her “party” with our immediate family on a private beach; it was everything.
Now that we have since started our Ranch and life is a little less “pick up and go,” we still do celebrate them each individually, but instead of going away for the weekend, we celebrate at home.
