Camera Details

I often get asked about my camera setup.
Before I sound like a know-it all, let me preface this by saying I am 100% completely self-taught (and not a photographer by any means). I love the elevated “point and shoot” category because learning a manual camera just seems way too daunting. I also love filming with my camera and I am obsessed with the quality the Sony provides.

I’ve always loved capturing the beauty in things especially when it comes to our Ranch.
Taking photos of our Highlands, kids, projects, ranch Life – you name it, I love showing you the beauty that I truly see here and hope to showcase a feeling as if you were really here.

I also don’t think you absolutely need my exact same setup to showcase the beauty you see in your everyday life however, I do love my camera + lenses and think that the tools I have do the job.

Again, because I am not a photographer, I can’t really speak much to experience with different brands but I will say, I started out with a Nikon D3500 Bundle and it was an amazing camera to learn on!
But as time went on, I wanted something just a tad bit more professional than the set up I had. We ended up swapping over to the Sony a7iii.
To be completely honest, I would recommend buying just the Body and adding quality lens options vs. the little one some of the online bundles might come with.
The a7iii was my first Sony and I absolutely loved it / used it for everything for several years.
UPDATE: I did end up upgrading to this body + this lens and have been using this combo exclusively as of 2026.

For the a7iii, we purchased other lenses over time that serve different purposes.
I have 2 that I naturally grab for if I am packing my camera around (#1 favorite lens) + (#2 favorite lens).
(Full disclosure, I can still use these lenses with my new Sony Body which is why I definitely recommend finding a brand you like and sticking with it because lenses aren't cheap  - but again, as of 2026 my favorite lens is the combo mentioned above - *this body + this lens).

If you follow me on Instagram – I do shoot and film all branded content with my Sony and piece my content together with that footage (love Final Cut Pro to edit that work).
I love the quality it provides. I also feel like it does give you the feeling like you’re standing right next to me witnessing it for yourself. I’ll either film by just holding the camera in my hand or I will put it on this tripod.

And side note - I am not exclusively filming all the content I post on social media via my Sony. I do still very much use my iphone (currently have the iphone15 pro) when I am out in the field / just capturing everyday little moments.
While I do think the quality of both photo + film is much better on my Sony, it can be a lot to always be packing around.

My goal is to try and capture our story so that someday when we aren’t around, it lives on through photo and video regardless of what I am shooting on, I simply want the memories.

As far as my editing process goes, I edit all my photos on Lightroom (Desktop Version) and have made my own presets, which I do sell [here].
Full disclosure, I do understand that some presets will not work for everyone simply because of the type of camera we use, etc.
I only use these presets when editing my Sony photos (Not video and not iphone photos).

For my iphone shot short form content, I edit those clips exclusively on CapCut (app store).
For any Youtube Video content, I shoot it on my DJI and I have really been loving that!
For any longer form content / branded content shot on my Sony, as mentioned above, I love editing on Final Cut Pro.

I was buying mini highland calf off of Facebook and was REALLY SCAMMED BIG TIME. That is difficult for me due to being disabled and not making lots of money. I went to Scotland a year ago and fell in love with them and told myself I was going to get one someday. I have a.lonely horse that has a goat friend but the goat keeps going next door to be with their goat clan. I was a type 1 diabetic and it killed my kidneys so I received a kidney and a Pancreas which cured my diabetes and then I got charcot in both feet and so they retired me from Nursing at the Seattle VA but I bought a small 2.5 acre farm in Enumclaw Washington that I love ❤️ . A mini highland girl calf would make me extremely happy 😊. I feed my animals and play with them but my horse is very lonely due to me not being able to ride her due to my transplants. Drs orders actually. I just want to feel very happy in my life.
Please can you help me find a mini highland calf baby. I would be SO VERY HAPPY IN MY LIFE.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH
